spring has sprung

Spring is one of my favourite seasons.

Blossoms are picturesque, days are slightly warmer,  I wake to the sound of birds chirping.

Springtime inspires me.

Springtime motivates me, I feel healthy and energetic.

I’ve waited ever so patiently for the season to change.

There is much to enjoy about Spring.

Spring is nature’s way of saying, “Let’s party!”  Robin Williams

on the grapevine

An idea popped into my head today. I wouldn’t call it a light bulb moment. It was a spilt second where an unexpected thought crossed my mind. It left me thinking this afternoon. I’ve come to the conclusion that I think it’s actually a good idea. It’s an idea I plan to test, to experiment and play with at write to tell.

Let me explain further. I turn my laptop on everyday! Yes there is rarely a day I don’t turn my laptop on. On the rare, very rare occasion I don’t turn my laptop on, I turn to my iPhone or iPad for my daily internet fix of news and social media. Am I addicted? Well,  if you call my need to absorb social media and news on a daily basis, then I guess I am.

But in self defence I’d like to explain my passion is for news and keeping abreast of events and happenings around my city, my country, and the world. Yes some may find this interest of mine intense, peculiar, strange or a little odd. That’s ok, it’s what I like, it’s what I enjoy, it’s what I do almost everyday. It’s me.  I’m fascinated by news and snippets of information.

So my idea…to share at write to tell the news stories, the photographs, the snippets of information, the random thoughts, I stumble across whilst online throughout my day. I’ll share pieces that catch my eye, pieces that make me think,  pieces that stand out, pieces I feel are worth sharing.

I’ll be filing these posts under the category of on the grapevine.

Without any further a do my first on the grapevine entry.

the calm space

I write for the day spa of online magazines, it’s called The Calm Space.

The Calm Space is published weekly with a monthly theme. The Calm Space is the go to online magazine for information, hints, tips and inspiration.

Have you seen, read or maybe even indulged yourself and your senses in it? If you answered no, please do take a wee peep. It’s a beautiful place, an inspiring place.

Do forgive me if I appear a little biased. I’ll let you in on a little secret of mine, I only write for magazines I absolutely love, the ones I have great passion for, the ones I feel at home with, the ones I would have liked to have dreamed and created myself. The Calm Space is one of those magazines.

During the month of August, The Calm Space  focused on the theme of action.

This month I wrote a piece ‘the biggest step in your journey’. I hope the piece leaves you feeling inspired to take action.

simply picturesque

Yesterday the sun shone. The wind was light. Sunday in Melbourne town was gorgeous. After days, weeks, even months of bitter Wintery weather the sun came out to play. It was the almost  perfect day. What an unexpected surprise.

Then this morning I woke to sunshine streaming through the bedroom windows. It made me feel good. It put a spring in my step and energised me. Today was the perfect day to stroll along the banks of the meandering Yarra River. I enjoyed sunshine and warm rays, amongst the peace and silence of nature.

I eagerly await the new season that comes, her name is Spring.

maeve magazine

Last week Issue 2, the Spring Issue, of online magazine Maeve, hit the world wide web.

Maeve is a super gorgeous magazine. The magazine’s target audience is mums but I’m certain and very confident any young woman will find the magazine fantastic! Over flowing with great articles to read. The articles are inspiring. Maeve is full of creativeness.

I had the opportunity to contribute two articles to this mighty fine magazine. The Chicktastic story on page 24 – an interview with the ladies behind the Polka Designer Kids Wear range. And on page 105 – an interview Jenna Park  of Whimsy & Spice. A Brooklyn, New York, confectionery business.

Grab yourself a coffee or whatever else it is that relaxes you and read, read, and read some more . Enjoy yourself. I’m sure you will!
